long, signed articles in A-Z order with bibliographies. Limited search function
on initial screen, but advanced search options are available. Also published in print.
An older edition of this work was previously included in Guide to reference.
Approximately three-quarters of the entries in this 3rd ed. are new, so older
editions are still useful, especially for library-focused entries.

are enhanced by hard-to-locate statistical data, many illustrations, and

Although many entries would benefit from updating, still a useful and

Medium-length signed articles deal with specific topics, and short, unsigned

topics and authors of entries. List of abbreviations. Available as an e-book

formats. LISWiki is a recent entry into the field of open
access, community-generated online encyclopedias - 2005
Abstract:
Over 1,300
contributed articles. Anyone can add or edit content. Entries may be browsed by
title or category, or searched by keyword. Completeness and accuracy of
information varies; most entries contain external links for further reading.
Among the useful entries are lists of chat reference servicesand library-hosted or library-related weblogs.
